IMO Mike's first concern has never just been the music. Had that been the case, he'd have wanted to do more than just repeat the formula for so many years. Greed? Well, he said it.

PS 'in their hearts'? Give me a bucket.

So... Brian, Bruce and Alan don't want to, and have no hearts ? Thanks for clearing up my misapprehension here.

Also, when was the last time you met Mike and had a chat with him ? As for the "greed" comment... there's this thing most people have called "a sense of humour". Mike is well aware of how some fans view him, and sometimes he plays up to that. Just as Brian does too. [smile]

Anyhoo, no point in me prolonging this exchange any longer, it's like arguing CoVid19 with a Trump supporter.

It is the saccharine words that made me feel sick. I don't know how Brian, Al or Bruce (or David, or Blondie, or Ricki if we are going to include all the erstwhile Beach Boys) feel about it. In the article I read on the subject Brian's manager said Brian hadn't been approached. None of us know that they all want to or if they do what their reasons may be.

oh, please...
is there any need to re-rehearse the entrenched
(as in, on this board and elsewhere, a well-advanced bias)
ignorant
(as in not being party to the ins'n'outs of these chaps' inner doings)
divisive
(as in, oh, bollocks, even i can't keep this up...)...

the story of the beach boys continues.
we seem to revel in the unfolding of its soapy operatic antics,
much like an addiction to 'reality' tv.

the last chapters aren't yet written
and it ill serves us to bitch'n'mewl in an aimless attempt to alter its course.
heaven knows, the wafting nuances of that history
has been rewritten according to the prevailing tides
throughout their 60 years.
and it ain't done yet.

cheering and booing from the sidelines is a useless activity.
or is it?

propaganda, proper or not, proliferates...
we are party to progressing the preposterous parabola
of the protagonists' peregrinations
with our profligate profusion of perfunctory partisan postulations...

cheers
and here's to the next decade...

absolutely awesome alliteration, adsett
particularly the paragraph (stanza, etc.) profuse with p’s.
(oh, bollocks, even i can't keep this up...)...

Que sera sera.

'Palimpsest' would have fitted in there quite nicely, wouldn't it, given the number of times the story has been rewritten.

I'd be more positive about it if it were a new chapter and not just a repeat of an earlier one. Time will tell.

I saw a show of shows in May of 2012 at the Beacon in NYC.  Amazing performance by The Beach Boys!

And to put this kerfuffle down - sur paul adsett says it right: "the last chapters aren't yet written and it ain't done yet."

One more time BB's - you can DO it!  But it HAS to be right - maybe not as many shows and more time off between to recharge and maybe do some interviews and promotion.  One more album - would do it for me!

ang,
oh, the angst involved in dangling another angle,
in superimposing an adsettian palimpsest.

once composed, not compelled to add anything.
personally, i'm probably opposed to superimposition
(but, oh i wish the word had sprung to timely mind
and heartily bless you for your interpolating intervention)
put provocatively,
would pimping the prose prove superfluous?
or souped up sans pareil?
would its performance be positively perked up?
easily, perceptibly palimpsier?
or, put into perspective,
more predominantly, pal, limper?

pretentious poncing,
putting parodic paraphernalia upon the pompous pox...

please pardon my putrid, parping, projectile pourout.

debhash01,
'que sera...'
does that relate to my apparent mistake in not using capital letters?

or something to do with a south of the border dish
made with cheese?
that spanish omelette moment,
when the italian waiter approaches with the parmesan flake cutter,
as doris day sings 'whip-crack-away'
whilst admiring his gigantic pepper grinder...

Funny you should mention that fool at the end of your post.  Probably no surprise to many that I'd never care to 'have a chat' with our idiot president, as I know too much about the things he's done and the people he's screwed for me to conclude anything remotely more positive.
Same thing with Mr. Love-Money.  Or is that 'Mr. Positivity?' [rolleyes]
