Funny, the way Brian always just picks up and leaves when he is finished..."I'm outta here". Does that at concerts too...

..."I'm outta here"

So true. But I'd be outta there too with those goofs interviewing!

The interview is now on Youtube. Agreed Surfergurl, the interviewers are annoying, but the interviewees are swell [smile]

It's really sad if the only song Murry Wilson praised Brian for was "Surfin'". Hoping that wasn't the case.

Brian always answers the question directly.  It's kind of cool to hear positive things about Murry for once, being a coach.  No mention that Brian and Murry wrote Breakaway together though so there had to be some love shared there.  A Murry-ism is the "let's go".  Is it Murry on the intro?

Only loved Surfin, really? Even Melinda gets a chuckle on that one!

Brian and Melinda do their interview - well done then Brian walks off to the applause as he does in any show. That's his own assertion.

It would be nice, great in fact, if the film gets Oscar buzz.  Let's hope.

I have no doubt that Murry loved at least a good deal of Brian's music. Did he tell Brian that, or maybe he did but not in the way Brian wanted him to?
As in everything else with BW, it's headachingly complicated. I have to step away from it every once in a while so that I'm not sucked in to the craziness of it all.

I'm sure Murry had anxiety and control issues, which he never overcame in this life. I'm also sure he adored his sons. What happens when you father someone with extraordinary talent? Even though the wellspring of fame and fortune comes from inherted traits? I can't say how I would react. My son has a greater art ability at his age. I celebrate it, although what would happen if he became the next Andy Warhol, even though I am his mother? What if you're born with a prideful personality? What if both of you are cut from the same cloth? It's complicated.
