At Back Bay Events Center
Exclusive Exhibit: The Art of the Beach Boys
(Boston, Massachusetts) November 16, 2019 – There will be 65 dealers exhibiting rare and vintage print media at the Boston Book, Print and Ephemera Show. The event will be held at the Back Bay Events Center at 180 Berkeley Street on Saturday, November 16 from 8 am to 4 pm
Considered one of the top exhibits of this kind in the Eastern United States, it is a satellite show to the Boston Antiquarian Book Fair being held just four blocks away. (The event is part of Boston Rare Book Week, which includes the Boston International Antiquarian Book Fair and many other events held in tandem.)
The Ephemera show will also showcase an exclusive exhibit of the art of the Beach Boys, one of America’s most iconic rock and roll bands. The are will include the band’s album sleeves, sheet music books, magazine covers, promo photos and concert posters. One-of-a-kind sketches and unused artwork will also be on display, along with rare foreign pressings of Beach Boys LPs and 45s, which often featured different designs than the U.S. versions.
Of special note: the compendium of fan-produced artwork in the exhibit is a testament to the impact the Beach Boys had on an entire generation of music enthusiasts.
“In an era where digital media rules, there is an increased demand for rare books and ephemera that can transport us back to a simpler time when the paper medium was the primary means of conveying intellectual and creative thought,” says Marvin Getman, show organizer. “The Boston Book and Paper Fair offers an abundance of works at all price points to satisfy seasoned collectors and newcomers alike.”
Tickets cost $15.00. More information about the show can be found here: https://www.bookandpaperfairs.com/boston-book-fair
