Yes!  And the brief period of time they let Brian show it to them again in 2012.

Well...of course bugs.  Brian never 'lost it'...even when he was deep in 'the throes' [thumb].  I don't know how but, no matter what, he always had the ability to deliver the GOODS.

As far as interviews go the guy that was 90% responsible for the whole thing will seldom be heard and the guy that was about 5% will be dominate.

Hopefully the channel will be more about the music and less about in depth interviews.   Because we know the first one who will be willing to give an in depth interview.😉    I could be wrong but so far on The Beatles Channel there haven't been any in depth interviews with Paul or Ringo.   Just brief comments here and there.   Some recent and some from the Beatles Anthology.  And of course comments that John and George made during the course of their lives.   The Beach Boys channel could be cool if it's approached in the right way.

Dennis had some good interviews during his productive days in the late 60’s early 70’s and Carl was always introspective and thoughtful with what he said. There were many great comments from Brian over the years and Al would have an honest thoughtful view as well.

Those are the comments that should be played and not the colossal boring Mr history rewrite.

In the same interview I referenced to start this thread, Al did say "we all gave interviews" for the Sirius channel. I interpret that to mean new interviews. So, we can expect both old and new.

We just got a new car, so we'll have XM Sirius for free until late June, so we'll get to see what the Beach Boys channel is all about.

Well I’m thrilled about it. I absolutely adore the Beatles channel, and I’m psyched to hear that my other favorite band is going to get one as well. I do hope they’ll do the Boys justice, and play some of the deep tracks.

Thanks.

You can login now.

Hello, I found your site by doing a search on the Beach Boys Channel that we found out about last week because we had very little info … until now. SiriusXM just sent out a Press Release.

I thought we could share information about this between our forums. Mine is all things satellite radio so hopefully your members can learn about other channels also while keeping up with this exiting new channel.

First song on the Sirius station:  GOOD VIBRATIONS!  Which I take as a good sign since they didn't start with the more obvious-- a  summer/surf/car/beach song. Also the promos before included tidbits of H&V, Vegetables, studio chatter, the extended middle piece of GV, a bit of Brian's suite from the album "That's Why God Made the Radio, as well as all of the hits. That leads me to believe (optimistically?) that they will play a wide swath of their tunes, not just "the hits"...

Heard "Airplane" from the "Beach Boys Love You" album also. Another good sign...

Of all things, we left California for Chicago today, just to turn on the (rental) car radio and hear Channel 4 - The Beach Boys Channel!*  Very happy to hear Steamboat, Wild Honey, Add Some Music, Pacific Coast Highway and Rio Grande(!).  Snippets of recording sessions and chatter were good.  The only complaints so far have to do with their choice of song intro dj for most of those we heard - too early to tell though.  I also heard this is a temporary station...but time and numbers will tell that, too I suppose.

*I have to admit, it looked pretty cool to see that in the (rather long and odd) list of sirius/xm stations.  And to get a Memorial Day weekend to kick it off is nice! (Wouldn't it be? [wink])
