Ok - so this week the theme is Body Parts

First up, the Beach Boys with “Don’t Talk (Put Your Head On My Shoulder)” - a classic track from “Pet Sounds”

It would have been nice to honour Prince this year as he has an interesting selection of body parts in his songs (!), but since the powers that be don’t allow his videos to stay online very long, instead here is a track from one of my favourite albums of recent years, by someone who no doubt has been influenced by Prince and Michael Jackson. The album is called  “Beauty Behind The Madness”  by The Weeknd, and this is  “Can’t Feel My Face”

One the rare occasions that Bread rocked out, they always did it very tastefully. Here’s “Down On My Knees”

and finally - an oldie from ZZ Top, and back to the days when MTV actually played music videos,  “Legs”

Enjoy, suggest others, and don’t forget to vote.

Thanks, Pete

They all work here, Pete.

Really? No pancreas?

I'd love someone to use this. On-topic and all.

At first, I thought unfair advantage, Pete, especially with the typo on head on my "shoulders".  But ZZ were going with two legs and Bread is singing knees, but we mostly have one face, unless:

And lotta eyes out there from the late, great Bobby Vee:

There's some room for serious abuse, this week. Before I cast my votes, here's a few body parts that come to mind.

Blotto - Metal Head

ZZ Top - Tush
(NOTE: Does NOT rhyme with "much", rhymes with "push")

WARNING: While this is a funny clip, if you are easily offended by risque material, DO NOT WATCH THIS! BTW, I had no idea there was official video, until just now!
King Missile - Detachable (censored)

I meant to post this during no Beatles week, I thought it was a new Lennon single when I first heard it:
Electric Light Orchestra - I Can't Get It Out of My Head

Listen.  Listen.  Listen.  Here come the first 'returns'... as Lee puts his best foot forward... ... ...

Gold...Beach Boys
Silver...Twenty Two Top
Bronze...Bread
Tin...Saturday/Sunday Man...although he sure does put in a word for hair as well.

I'll refrain from posting the Fugs' 'contribution' as this is a 'mixed' exercise.

Gettin' in early this week, Pete.

A good bunch of songs and I'll go with:

GOLD:  ZZTop for Legs.  What a great way to start a Monday!  Always loved this one.

SILVER:  Beach Boys for Don't Talk ( Put Your Head on My Shoulder).  A very good romantic selection from Pet Sounds.

BRONZE:  Bread for Down on My Knees.  Wow!  I hadn't heard this one in many, many years.  Nice to hear it again.

TIN/PEWTER:  The Weeknd for Can't Feel My Face.  Sounds ok, but just can't make sense of the lyrics.

My final answer.

Wow, Cantina! I think that might be the only time that body part gets mentioned this week!

Might have been a closer week with this Beach Boys oddity.

Take a load off, Pete.

Then again....

I think it depends on which side of the pond you're from as to which body part this is referring to...

Thanks for the early votes. Darren, that Bee Gees' song has long been a source of amusement between me and a US friend, Cindy - I think The Weeknd's  song may be about his ingestion of a certain illegal white powder!. T - where do you find this stuff (King Missile) - actually, I don't think I want to know..........

Hi Pete.  So glad to see something from this year up.  I was hoping you'd go ahead and post that song (after mentioning you might).  I don't think it's going to get a lot of love, but I love it.

Darren, you are right.  You'd need 500 faces for all those eyes.

t, that is one of my favourite songs from ELO, thanks for posting.

Something else fairly new.  Marian Hill, "Lips".

The Black Lips, "Bad Kids" 2008, and "I'll Be With You", 2009.

Well, this should be a fun week.

The Monkees movie "Head" was on at 3 a.m. in the wee hours of this past Sunday on Turner Classic Movies. I'd seen it before years ago, but since it's rarely on TV, got up around 3:25 and sat through it. Yep, ideal viewing when you're half asleep!

I'll add to the gross anatomy for now with this. (Don't let the title fool you. "fingers and toes" are prominent in the chorus):

Back with my ballot later, Pete!
