One Badfinger.  Hopefully seven good ones.

And I'm sure Darren was behind the Aussie ARIA's awarding Crowded House into their hall of fame.  (Why??? There's like, a lotta water between us.)

Sing along now...

I remember hearing this version as a kid and we probably sang it at school or something too.  Seems to me it's fairly a well-known song, no?  We've had a similar BOTB theme and I might have posted it then

Sometimes, when somebody is missing, it feels like this.  "Cutting My Fingers Off"  Turnover (2015).

John B, loved reading your comments about the songs. [biggrin]

Tom, those Bread comments. You're on a roll, mate. [thumb]

bonnie, that was only because there's no Hall of Shame at the ARIA's.

Gold - Don’t Talk (Put Your Head on My Shoulder) (The Beach Boys - 1966)
This is not a favourite of mine at all, but the opposition is no opposition.

Silver - Legs (ZZ Top - 1983)
It doesn’t need the rubbish at the start – is that supposed to be funny? Audio on clip doesn’t do the track justice. This was a hit. Shows what a bad era it was in music.

Bronze - Down on My Knees (Bread - 1972)
Gee, they could really rock out! Sounds like a mediocre Raspberries track that you have get through on a CD in order to hear the good stuff. But, no, it’s the first Bread song in the Battle and, yep, an ordinary one. I read there was conflict between James Griffin and David Gates over all the singles being Gates songs. Gates should’ve just played him this. End of conversation.

Participant - Can’t Feel My Face (The Weeknd - 2015)
Oh, Pete, you hipster, you! Great haircut!!! Surprised to find this was a hit all around the world, including #2 in Australia. Never heard of it so gave it plenty of airtime. That’s enough auto-tune for this week, thanks. Na.

Okay, here goes.

HEADS - TBB.  Not my favourite BB song either, but much too lovely to place anywhere else.  Haunting vocals.  I love the "listen, listen listen," part, which my ears hear, hear, hear.

SHOULDERS - The Weeknd.  All of me wanted to give this my gold just to score it an extra point.  It's almost certainly going to be the tin this week, which is a real shame.  Abel Tesfaye (The Weeknd) has talent.  I'm not a fan of some of his other songs, but this one is just as funky as heck.

KNEES - Bread.  I like a few minutes of Bread here and there.  As a child, I liked them a lot.  That was probably because at four years old you generally like kind, simple and melodic songs, like the ones Bread sang (and the cast of Sesame Street).  Originally, this was going to be my bottom dweller, but it's just so much cooler than the eighties monstrosity below.

TOES - ZZ Top.  Okay, I had forgotten about this clip, with cinderella being swept away from the mean nasty people by three Kelly Bundy's, and getting a makeover complete with bobby socks and shoulder pads and double belts.  This must be late ZZ Top? They've tidied those dirty old beards  I really liked "Rough Boy, which hasn't aged well (clip below), but otherwise, I'm not a ZZ Top fan.

Gin Wigmore "Under My Skin", 2007.

Thanks, Pete.

Thanks for the votes. How great to see "Baby Blue" by Badfinger in amongst the suggestions and how perfect was the use of that track at the end of "Breaking Bad"?

I'll post the results around 8am Monday morning (UK Time).

Hi all,

I don‘t even need to use any tic-tacs to grab what I prefer.

1. DT (PYHOMS)
If I didn‘t like this song, I shouldn‘t be here. The other day I rated this one as Brian‘s best vocal performance, and it certainly has other qualities, too. The sequence in L&M playing it was weird and scary.

2. The Weeknd
nice bass, nice hairdressing, nice special effects.

3. ZZ Top
I can‘t really enjoy any music video featuring this kind of special effects these days. Causes inhibitions and flashbacks.

4. Bread
causes nothing at all.

Sorry for sarcasm.

Cheers

To have body parts - you first need a pulse.  Remember Canadian band Austra?

And they can go live with it over a track:

Fave version:
