Al, Darren, Tom and David - your votes are in the book!  ons

Something came to mind yesterday - maybe a somewhat useless fact, yet interesting ...
Drew Barrymore seemed to be in a few Beach Boys related films.  She was in 50 First Dates with BB's Wouldn't It Be Nice that was the musical theme, Never Been Kissed, with Don't Worry Baby  featured in that one and a young Drew that was seen in the Beach Boys' Rock and Roll to the Rescue video.

I loved the movie Top Gun and the theme, Danger Zone by Kenny Loggins.  He also was the artist who had another popular song as a movie theme - I'm Alright from Caddyshack.

There are tons of movies with popular songs as themes, so this is going to be fun to see what y'all come up with this week!  Keep 'em comin'!

Gratified that Larry honorably lifted his Dennis respect, at least a little.   But he still doesn't like 'Little Bird' or 'Forever', or one of Cretan Welsh's faves: 'Be With Me'.

Here's a recent movie song just for you, John.   It's called Let It Go from Frozen

Yeah, "Forever" has sentimental value, but I've always thought it was overrated. "Little Bird" would be higher on my list but for the lyrics. "Be With Me" is one of Denny's overwrought efforts.

But I've got nothing bad to say about the great Tom Ewell, who delivered the introduction to David's The Girl Can't Help It, or that song, or this one from the same movie, with Jayne Mansfield making a few appearances:

Gene Vincent & His Blue Caps, "Be-Bop-A-Lu-La"

Cindy, you always have top notch songs that makes it both challenging and enjoying to pick them apart. Voting a song last in such a line up is no insult.
My favorite movie video of Stand By Me has already been posted by kds. And then I saw bonnie's wolf video and thought she scooped me. Luckily I came here to post a different kind of wolf movie video, albeit a very different cover of a BB hit from the move "The Wolf of Wall Street":

My votes:
Gold - The Walker Bros. - The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore"
Silver - Dennis Wilson - River Song
Bronze - Harry Nilsson
Tin - Survivor - Eye of the Tiger
Another nice week, Cindy.

Trying to come up with something a bit different.

A couple of songs from the (decidedly average) movie, Mt Zion, (2013)

Third World "Now That We've Found Love".

youtube.com/watch?v=XXeY74ttezU

Max Merritt and the Meteors "Slipping Away".

youtube.com/watch?v=Ziavyc86G7E

And a couple from the (brilliant) movie, Boy, (2010)

The Phoenix Foundation "One Million Rainbows".

youtube.com/watch?v=wEAuhtoeE_M

Alister Riddell (Space Waltz)  "Out on the Street".

youtube.com/watch?v=abIDmIigixE

Herbs "French Letter".

No wild-eyed tigers around this lot.

bonnie -- Thanks for "One Million Rainbows". Very cool.

From the big new movie A Quiet Place about the family that has to be very quiet because our planet has been overrun by dangerous aliens who hunt their prey by sound:

Neil Young, "Harvest Moon" (they listen very quietly)

bonnie and I both posted Neil Young's instrumental theme from Dead Man during the Great Beyond week. And now we're doing Movies week. If only I'd put it up during Inanimate Objects week too!

Is anyone planning a Johnny Depp week?

PS: Neil Young, "Guitar Solo 5" from the Dead Man soundtrack. Almost 15 minutes long.

From the movie 'Whale Music' which was inspired to a large degree by The Brian Wilson 'situation'.

If you don't know about Whale Music...Read a little bit about it here...

I'm going to watch it.

you could nearly throw a blanket over this lot, but right now I'll go with this order:

GOLD  Nilsson
SILVER Walker Brothers - yet another that I can hear Karen Carpenter doing (particularly the verses) BRONZE Dennis
TIN Survivor
0
Popeye (not the sailor)

My movie theme votes.

Gold: River Song - Dennis Wilson - A masterpiece of a song that still sounds fresh to my ears after all these years.

Silver: Everybody's Talkin' - Harry Nilsson - The "wah wahs" can become a bit grating but overall a very good song.

Bronze: The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore - Walker Brothers - I prefer the Frankie Valli version I grew up with.

Tin: Eye of the Tiger - Survivor

An oscar winning chart climber from 1961.

Thanks Cindy!

Added to the book of voters are:  Deb, D.A.N. and Popeye.

While I'm here, I'll cast my votes.

Gold:  Walker Brothers for The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore.  The tv show Supernatural used this song by Frankie Valli and it was very good also.  Always a treat to hear this one.

Silver:  Dennis Wilson for River Song.  I could not believe my ears when I heard this song in the movie!

Bronze:  Survivor for Eye of the Tiger.  I loved this song from the first time I heard it in 1982.  I'll admit that it is overplayed on the radio, but I still love it.

Tin/Pewter:  Nilsson for Everybody's Talkin'.  It doesn't deserve a tin, but somebody had to go last.  Good song.

My final answer.

Cindy
