The whole festival sounds fun but the news that Brian’s documentary will be a part of it is great. I hope it starts making the rounds to other film fests as well as maybe a limited distribution soon.

Thanks!!  Just wondering yesterday when this would finally be 'available'.  As Al says, it's the beginning.

Bugsy - usually the Film Fests are the feeler to how well received a film might be and possibly look for more distribution.  It seems as this is the way it has been going for a while.  So I was happy to read this.  I have been looking out for this intermittently.

That being said, I was so very disappointed in the films that were Academy Award nominated - but pieces of garbage imo, that I saw this past year and will not even mention them by name.  I only liked ONE (well, one and a half).  We can only hope that this will change and that good films will be watched and recognized.  But similar to music now, it's the production music that wins out - NOT the best and most talented artists. Sorry about the rant, but it's time for TALENT to win out over smoke and mirrors.

Let's go Brian!!!!!!

If you look at “Love and Mercy” for comparison, the first screening was at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival on September 7. It was picked up for distribution by Lionsgate/Roadside Attractions three days into the festival. Not too shabby. It made the rounds of several film festivals, (Berlin International, SXSW) and was finally released to theaters in June 2015. It was quick to be picked up and I hope the same for LPR.
L&M and LPR are two different types of films. L&M is a story with actors, LPR is seems to be more of a first hand account from Brian himself with additional contributions from Springsteen, Elton, Jakob Dylan and more. And if I recall there may be some original Brian Wilson in the score. Original Brian commentary, original Brian in the score...I definitely want to see this. I hope it has a fantastic take off at the Tribeca.

TFF now has the schedule up on their website. It will be shown 4 times over 4 different days in 3 different theaters. Fingers crossed we'll all be able to see it at some point. It looks so good.

Stephanie,

Thanks for the schedule - I'm going to make it a go for a showing.  NYC is a hop/skip for me to get to.

This is great news that it is showing and hopefully picked up for distribution.

It looks like we have to wait a little longer for that Long Promised Road.

“Tribeca Film Festival will no longer be taking place next month.”
“The 19th annual event for independent film was set for April 15 through April 26, but has been postponed because of coronavirus. No new dates have been announced.”
https://variety.com/2020/film/news/tribeca-film-festival-postponed-due-to-coronavirus-concerns-1203532234/

Darn.
