Had to add this cover Brian and Carnie did of You Are So Beautiful. A song forever (no pun intended - or perhaps it was....) associated with Dennis and sung by his brother and his niece. It is almost too touching.

It would perhaps have been even more touching played down rather than played up with the emotive video of the child and the dog!

Great list, many of those songs would be on my top 25 BW-Solo list too. In my list I'd have to add She Says That She Needs Me, Being With The One You Love, Caroline No and Roll Plymouth Rock.

I just want to speak up for Carnie's cd of lullabies. My two little ones fell asleep to that cd for almost 4 years. It does exactly what it is supposed to do!

I love Brian's vocals on You Are So Beautiful. He and Carnie sound great together.

I agree with a lot of your choices.  Hopefully, there will be a best-of set one of these days.  As it happens, I took some time a while back to put together my own version of that idea for my ipod.  I made a point to include at least one track from each of Brian's albums outside of the Beach Boys.  I love the way it turned out.  It is great fun to listen to when I go for a drive.

Here's the track list:  One for the Boys / Your Imagination / The Spirit of Rock and Roll / Let's Go to Heaven in My Car / Desert Drive / Going Home / He Couldn't Get His Poor Old Body to Move / Movies is Magic / I Got Rhythm / Baby Mine / What Love Can Do / In My Moondream / Fantasy is Reality (Bells of Madness) / Caroline, No, / Lay Down Burden / In Blue Hawaii / Rio Grande / Love and Mercy.

GIOMH as a whole may be the worst thing Brian made in his solo career, but Desert Drive rocks.
