thanks, kaycee, but I don't want to be a journalist since there's no more rock to write about.  or not very much ...

btw, Kenny and the Cadets didn't make records.  It was from the pre-Beach Boys days.

I've got those songs of course.

It's a bad sign that these 'Randy' records releases were undated.

what is the desert trip?

I will never get my cookies in order...  I have tried.  I guess I throw them too often.

Hey John,

There are 2 releases from "Randy" records. I am not sure which is the first release since like you said they are not dated. I found something else on it though. Here are links to both:

Okay, this is my last post of the day--gotta go home !

The Morgans put out something in small release maybe, just after the initial Capitol success, but I have never seen anything real from (early 1962?) on 45's by Kenny & the Cadets that was not a bootleg years later (on swirly colored vinyl and so forth).

Hi John and Curt,

I listened to "Sunflower" yesterday and today. Breathtaking album! I love that Dennis and Bruce had some input with their talents. It was interesting, I had recognized one of the songs as being on an album called "American Spring". This was the group that Brian had produced that had his wife and sister-in-law in 1972. I actually have that album. The song's name is "Forever". I LOVE Sunflower![biggrin]

Hi John and Curt,

I listened to "Sunflower" yesterday and today. I LOVE it! Really like that Dennis and Bruce had contributions with their talent. I recognize one of the songs from an "American Spring" album that I have...the song "Forever" is on that one too. Beautiful album...

'Forever' is such a great song that every Brian and Stamos has sung it!   It may well be Dennis' best.  Did you see they used it for the 'American Family' bio to class up their part 2?--by showing it was the song that Dennis FINALLY got Murray's respect.   For the longest time, 'Sunflower' was indeed my 2nd favorite.  I just think as time goes by, the Bruce songs bring it down to 3rd or 4th--in my opinion.  When Brian leans over to the mic and sings 'This Whole World' or 'Add Some Music to your Day' in concert nowadays, it's a beautiful world indeed!

by the way, I dig that Spring album too.  !       Very enjoyable.

I agree John...Dennis had great talent too! I love his song "Lady" or "fallen in love" depending on what you are listening to. I first heard it on "Hawthorne Hotshots" and LOVED IT! Bruce's style is definitely different...a bit of sugar..."Add some music to your day" blew my mind! Now I understand why I see it all over the community...I also have a 45 of American Spring...rare!

Super cool!

yes, I love 'Lady' as well as 'Sound of Free'.!  I've got that & Rumbo single.  I don't have Spring singles, but I have the Spring album (with the green/blue cover).  Love 'Down home' and 'Sweet Mountain' probably the best.
