This is just one bad news after another.
https://www.usnews.com/news/entertainment/articles/2019-03-11/hal-blaine-drummer-who-played-on-thousands-of-hits-dies

Hal lived originally in Holyoke (up here in Southern New England) and did survive something horrible up here when he was a teen.

One of the all-time greats and the beat behind the Beach Boys.  Lord, this is sad news.

It IS sad, as Hal was the ONE!  The one with the most...
I have Hal's book, and yes, he faced some tough times.  Love how his humor showed through in so many ways.  Very appreciative of Brian's talent...and I think Brian felt the same about Hal.

Wonder if the passing of the world's greatest drummer, will remind that the last time he played with Brian, and perhaps with Carol too (?) was on the Paley Sessions "Everything I Need" and maybe
nudge Rhino in the direction of releasing a fuller 2-record set of the best of the Brian/Andy Lost Sessions stuff, officially, finally.

Sad news, indeed.  I have a memory, from San Diego in 1990, of Brian's introducing Hal as "drums R us."  Earlier, Hal spoke for about 30 minutes about his life and career, and took questions.  He recalled ("Oly-Oly-Oxen Free-Free-Free) Hide Go Seek" with the Honeys as his first collaboration with Brian.  Hal also published a book about his life around that time.

R.I.P Hal Blaine. I would't say I'm a fan, but I really appreciate his contributions to BW's and BB's music and career. Mike d'Amico of the Sixties.
