As someone who is a "newer" Brian Wilson fan, I have a question. Has he ever had to cancel a tour due to poor ticket sales? I was checking available seating for some of the Holiday tour dates and it seems like there are a lot of tickets available. He just cancelled the May shows (which my wife and I had tickets for) due to back surgery and now i'm worried i'm freaking out about that. God I hope that doesn't happen.

Don't remember the exact details...'cause I didn't [and don't really] care...but when the Beach Boys were touring to dozens upon hundreds of fans and thousands upon thousands upon thousands of empty seats...the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in tow...I think THAT tour ended before its time.  T'was a floundering and hopelessly ill-conceived idea the bums in the seats wanted no part of it...leaving the afore mentioned seats to enjoy the excess breathing room...and the ticket sellers to partake of the plentiful opportunities to read, play 'x's and o's', hangman, and to call friends and even passing acquaintances...just to while away the exceedingly long, sleep inducing hours.

Brian on his own?  I don't 'think' so Lar.  I'm a fan of the large Bar...so Big Lar sounds rather close...especially after a handful of libations. [biggrin]

I believe he canceled part of his 2014 ('No Pier Pressure') UK tour due to other commitments, most from the success of "Love & Mercy" at the box office/award ceremonies - though I believe several of those shows were booked in very large venues, and sales were not trending sufficient.

But for this upcoming holiday tour?  Don't freak-out.  Don't worry.  The venues are small, and there are many months to go before you'd expect to see sell-outs.  I have tickets for the same tour, and am planning on going.

If Brian can make it, he surely will!

Thank you! Sorry, I know it is probably an irrational fear. I just freaked out because I know nothing lasts forever and I want to see him and this band as much as possible before it's over for good.

No...not irrational.  You are just passionate!  Keep as many good thoughts as possible - I'll do the same.
