I posted this on "Music To Isolate By" in the Battle of the Bands section a few days ago, but enjoyed it so much, I'm adding it here.

This young man has a "First Time Listening To" channel on YouTube. See his reaction to hearing the Beach Boys for the first time, in particular, "Don't Worry, Baby". It's joyful.

That was like me when I first heard it in stereo (on reasonably good speakers anyway).

After almost 60 years it still affects me the same way it did the first time I heard it. Just like this.

Okay, you got me. It made me cry. Brian's music is going to bring joy in any situation and as long as humans can hear.

I had forgotten how completely perfect the recording of "Don't Worry Baby" was. Well, and so many other Brian creations.

Thanks for posting this video. We watched it a few times. That this gentleman was apparently listening to The Beach Boys for the first time reminded me of the few articles and reviews I've read over the years in which the writers stated that Brian Wilson was never a very good singer. My reaction to those comments were....HUH?

With respect to Don't Worry Baby, in April 2017 we were at a Brian Wilson Band show at NJPAC in Newark, NJ. Matt Jardine sang lead. I think it was right about "But she looks in my eyes. And makes me realize...." when several people a bit to our left lurched out of their seats applauding.

Hope all of you are well and safe.

This is a great watch! Lovely to see someone not used to Brian's wonderful tunes and stunning production 'get it' - JayVee obv does! - for the first time. Hope Brian's seen this, if not today's birthday would be a good time to show him and celebrate the joy he brings.

I’ve seen this a few times. I love to the see the pure joy on this fellow’s face. This is just a most wonderful song. It reminds me of another video. Even Brian gets taken away:

😇

I agree on the 30 seconds of wonderfulness, bugs. I wish it was just a bit longer so we could see how this ended.
The clip is from a documentary on Rodney Bingenheimer, aka The Mayor of Sunset Strip. He is a well known DJ from KROQ in LA who became known for being the first to recognize and promote new and then upcoming talent from the 70’s forward. I think he is now on SiriusXM's Little Steven's Underground Garage. The whole documentary is on YouTube. The short 30 second bit with Brian is well into the documentary at 1:08:45, but sadly it is the same as the short 30 second clip I already posted. It would be great to watch if any more exists somewhere.
