I just watched Love and Mercy for the umpteenth time and Joan Cusack, John's sister is in the Movie at the 5:12 mark. She is the go-go dancer on the back podium in the orange bikini. She is shown from the 5:12 mark to the 5:24 mark and then they do a quick close up of her dancing with a guy. It definitely is Joan

Yup....she's in there.....at 50 something......it's a tiny bit part, but I think she's been in almost every movie John has been in......

53 is not old. I'm 56, but I look like I'm in my 30s. I can do go go dances too.

I agree, Myra (um, not that I've been looking)......50s are not old anymore.  While some of us (M & F) let ourselves go much younger, there are many, many beautiful women in their 50s.  I'm very lucky - my wife is 50-something, and is as trim as the day I met her (if not more so).  And while she may complain about lines here and there, they don't really show to me.

I could definitely believe Joan still looks great.

If this is indeed Joan, I think it's a nice 'tradition'.....and surely helps the Cusack bond.

I'm sorry to burst everyone's bubble, but that's not Joan.

The young woman in question is a dancer by the name of Haylee Roderick. She's listed in the EPK and on IMdb.

Never saw a go go dancer I didn't like...'cept for that 'love' guy who looked like an idiot back in '63'64 go-go dancing with the band when he wasn't singing lead.  Maybe that's why Brian used him...to keep him from doing the/being the JERK. [tongue]

Well, that was nearly a two-year bubble you just burst! [eek]
Yet, my wife still looks good - as does Joan...and Myra, I'm sure. [wink]

(Evidently, I'm not smart enough to use this message board! Here's what I tried to reply, earlier๐Ÿ˜‰

Only a good man would speak with such fondness and pride about his wife of several years! I admire a man who loves his wife and sees her youthful beauty even as she grows older! This is something we are told we must do (to be theological/philosophical about the matter). I have to tell you, brother, that I can't take my eyes off my beautiful wife! I still see that fabulous 21 year old college girl I met many years ago. I am still burning with beautiful, sweet love for that wonderful lady (and mother of my children).

Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone in this world! A lifetime of blessings, saturated with love and mercy, I wish for you and your beautiful wife!

I need some help from you other Brianiacs. In the scene where Brian fumbles his way to bed where Marilyn is sleeping (post LSD all nighter), he tells her that God showed him the future. Subsequently, he weeps bitterly and tells Marilyn that he is sorry, repeatedly.

I've done a lot of reading regarding The Beach Boys and Brian Wilson, but I am ignorant of this particular event. Does anyone have the lowdown on this revelation? I wonder how I could have missed this over the years. Did I miss something relevant in the film, as well?

Thanks, in advance, for the help! GDS
