Firstly, I was shocked and saddened to stumble across t Bedford's passing about 6 weeks ago. Loved his humour here and the eclectic and obscure tracks he'd share. Thanks, t … RIP.

Secondly, bonnie (and all of NZ) - sincere condolences. There was a jackass in Quebec City responsible for a similar act 2 years ago that affected the entire country. I've admired and respected your PM Jacinda even before this happened and fully agree with her saying in times like this, we should discuss the victims and their families, NOT a word about the deranged d-bag...don't even flatter him by saying his name.

Thirdly, just came across a new trailer for the upcoming "Toy Story 4". Beware, it has that song starting at 1:24:

Not sure how regularly I'll be here, but just thought I'd drop in with that anyway...[smile]

Lisa - Thanks for popping/dropping in and sharing your thoughts.  We miss you.

My daughter is an animation artist in the Bay Area, growing up with Pixar as her inspiration.  Consequently, we're even a bit more-married to the Pixar/Toy Story trilogy (+1) than the 3 billion people around the globe that have admired it for years.  She sent me the link to the trailer yesterday - it was that song that inspired her to do so though, as (like me and 2.9 billion people) she has mixed feelings about the making of #4.
-At least your third subject was only 'so' sad.

Lisa, that song sounds good here.   Thanks for that!!!  Thinking I'll have to catch up with the previous TS's.

Missing you here, though.  Needing my larfs and a smile.

Thanks for sharing and also adding on Bugsy.

why are you guys trying to scare kids by saying "THAT song".   I was thinking, 'don't be Kokomo, don't be Kokomo...'   and was pleasantly surprised.  I'll definitely see this movie, how is TS# 4 going to be anywhere nearly as bad as all of those CG-sci-fi-fantasy-Halloween costume movies that dominate the world?

John B -- Thanks for the good point/laugh re: Kokomo. What I'd meant is that in recent years, it seems "GOK" has been cropping up in several commercials, TV episodes or movies...and there was that remake (albeit for a charity) with Pharrell Williams and others. It's a lovely classic - just thought there might be some rolling their eyes. Mind you, at least it's somewhat tasteful here, unlike "WIBN" as the backdrop in that violent video game ad someone posted a little while back.

bugs -- That's cool about your daughter. Pixar seems to have a fairly good philosophy - at least with the TS series thus far - of not churning out sequels unless there's a pretty solid script for it. That said, however, I might have a "wait and see" or even "wait for DVD/Blu-Ray" for the fourth time around.
Since animation is in the family, you may or may not know all animation in "Mary Poppins Returns" was done old school hand drawn (at the insistence of the director, not the studio) as one of the touches to keep it on par somewhat with the initial '64 classic. So it's a little bittersweet realizing that might be the last time hand drawn animation is in a full length feature...and at 24 frames per second, that's a heckuva labor of love.

Made you look, Al?  Thanks!

Lisa, glad to hear from you. losing t was a real shock down in the battle, a big loss.

And I miss you too.

Yes, we have decided as a country to ignore the man, his name, his face. Jacinda is changing gun laws as we speak. I admire her.

Love the trailer.

He was just a poster like us, but he was special and original and knew and loved music from different eras and styles.  Most people associated him with his love for the Kinks, even though he was from Cleveland.  I think it's cool that you are here, damn the thunder!, but at least you have been adventurous enough to go to sea, Sail, On, Sailor.   I have a friend in Ohio, actually, who told me Amsterdam was his favorite city in Europe, and my own mother, was just there recently for the first time, at age (let me count), 78.

Its a shame when good people go. I grew up in a small city in north of Portugal. I was once told by an american we have higher standards than Canada with our culture. I often feel Pixar movies are all about me.

I am a the who guy myself

I'm so sorry to learn of t bedford's passing. He was here when capital letters on the internet were seen as passé.

These day's it's filled with Grammar queens. Always grammar and never grancha.

He was here in the earliest of days of the old Blueboard when it was choc full o' humour and knowledge.

RIP to a blueboard trooper ...
