I've probably posted enough on that other related thread,so...

Looks like one of BW's old friends has joined the COVID isolation concerts, with special guest, a gorgeous golden retriever. This is actually his official YT - take note of a couple of altered lyrics, tee hee:

Absolutely heartsick that - at time of posting - the U.S. is now #1 for confirmed COVID cases. This includes a New York nurse who passed away. That's one list no country wants first place or anywhere near it!

In tribute to all health care professionals worldwide bravely tackling this, here's a new spin on a Burt Bacharach beauty:

I am just now learning how to Skype.  The family has taken it up. It’s nice that we can be together over the internet even if we can’t be in person.
I see Lisa posted What the Word Needs Now for virtual orchestra. Maybe my family has some hidden talents we’ll discover before this is all done. Here’s one I saw earlier today that is similar.

Aww, thanks Deb #1. That's another nicely done virtual ensemble...even if I was getting easily distracted by the fur babies popping up and the row of people passing TP rolls down, ha ha! As most pet people might have learned by now, cats and dogs somehow can't carry the virus or get sick from it, so if you miss contact with people, you can cuddle and...uh...love the (fur baby) you're with. (Sorry for destroying part of a popular 60s lyric there).  [frown]

~Sigh~ It's a little tougher to post another parody video with the numbers creeping up in some parts of the world and unspeakably grim in others. Yet, humor/humour still seems like medicine to help release these tensions and anxieties. There's two I've come across that at least enforce why we must continue to take precautions seriously. One has lyrics by Chris Franklin and vocals by Robert E. Kelly. It's short but rather blunt - it's title, "Stay the F--k at Home" should be a hint. Don't have the heart to post here after the previous two mellow selections, but if curiosity is killing any of you cats check it out privately on YT.

So here's an alternate with an impressive Freddy Mercury soundalike, at least:

Lisa, I like the parodies. I sent Kokomo to one of my sisters who really got a laugh out of it. Laughing is good.
This one is not new, and it’s not a cute one like Burt Bacharach or Kokomo, and you might not want to let the very young or squeamish watch.

Thanks for the votes of confidence, Deb #1!
It's almost starting to remind me of the days after the 9/11 attacks, when society seemed so much obviously quieter and subdued. It was hard to smile or laugh. I'd been a Walmart cashier back then and distinctly remember 2 gals I was serving. One let out a laugh about something, caught herself, saying something like it seems so inappropriate to do that and almost teared up like she'd committed an ultimate sin. For what it was worth, I gave her my best sympathetic, forgiving expression.

So here we are again, trying to find that balance between being respectful of the situation but needing to release some of that tension and anxiety...especially since we could be in this pattern for who knows how many months before any country is even close to "the old normal". Hey, I'll even go out on a limb and predict there's a snowball's chance in Honolulu any country is gonna be back to normal and open for business for Easter!  [wink]

Once again, God bless the front line hospital staff - this year's version of the 9/11 police, paramedics and firefighters - who are fearlessly going in where everyone else wouldn't.

(PS: I ventured into the Bjork (aka: gal with that wacko dead swan dress at an awards show years ago), prepared for something avant-garde. Just think of the brightly coloured worms crawling over the faces as Gummi worms and you'll make it.  [biggrin]

Lisa and Deb - THANK YOU for these song/versions in times of need.

Just some from our fearless leader here ...

Wish that Brian would get together one more time … the right social distance here.

Still to determine - the H and V's of all of this:
