I just had H&V pop into my head awhile ago and here it is. I think it’s time to revisit the SMiLE concert video again.

Hey D.A.N, I am slightly chagrined to admit I didn’t know of The Explorer’s Club before this. I see even a few of Brian’s band have a connection. The lead vocal in Safe Distance has shades of Brian, etc. but I also hear an Art Garfunkel likeness at times.

Lisa, I had the same thought...just think of them as gummy worms.

I’m glad Brian’s mini-set made it to Australia. 18 lost to this already in Australia, so some isolation music may be in order there as well if it isn’t already.

Some soothing from the Toronto Symphony reminding us it is Spring, even though it is hard to notice this year.

One more if you feeling like this:

Al - I'll see your "Hushabye" and raise you "Shaddupa You Face" as an appropriate song title for Chump.

Searched for the original and Whaddya know? yet another COVID version, complete with a line about gov't that fits perfectly with that clueless "back in business for Easter" declaration:

(I now return you to the classier choices)… [cool] …. how about this (just take in the lyrics):

… who the heck would I be if I didn't throw in this two-fer?:

Lisa - call, see you and raise:
Live in the bathroom first (Jeff Tweedy and sons)

Graham Nash (following Brian on RS)

And your Macca learning time

From my second favorite PM album - we are all doing it!

Sweet Baby James and family are hunkered out in Montana now:

What a treat that this forum is bringing a number of us back together as a virtual community to share some applicable music during this extended period of shelter in place. Just a couple months ago, who'd have thought that this forum would find new life for us to share music and continue to be "together" in a way we're all very accustomed to, but for a very different reason. As time passes, perhaps more of our old BOTB friends will rejoin us here.

I have really enjoyed many of the songs and at-home clips you all have found and posted in the past week or two. Here's a few more from over past decades I've thought of recently:

First, from Brian:

Next, some "lonely girls":

And a few "lonely boys" too:

And when this dreaded virus finally passes, perhaps this is how we'll all feel:

Be safe and stay well everyone!

Keeping with Tom's lonely concept:

Dion - not lonely, but wondering why (five years ago)

Listening to Dion

Wowsers...after 3 COVID song parodies of The Knack's "My Sharona", Madonna's "Vogue" (posted both under the Message from Brian Thread), and Adele's "Hello", Chris Mann delivers something real deep and timely here (his dad is included in the thanks...you'll see why):

Thanks, Al.  [thumb]

Just starting Day 2 of what my Executive Director is hoping will be a temporary layoff. The large clinic I work at has had a lot less people traffic with the workload practically cut in half the past 2 1/2 weeks. With all the self-isolation plus COVID cases creeping up, understandably patients are postponing in-person visits with only a few agreeing to a virtual visit by phone, FaceTime, Skype, etc. Also, again with the shortage to non-existence of PPE supplies, our specialists have had to cancel procedures as they can only be done on a "literally life or death" situation which won't likely happen thru us compared to a hospital. So from what I understand a few support staff - including 4 full-time transcriptionists including myself - are somewhat relieved having that work anxiety settled...and settling in to properly staying put at home. Wonder if a similar situation is happening in other countries -- clinics which usually deal with the non-urgent much quieter than the hospitals...such as one of the main ones in town being almost next door to my workplace? Really, I'm all the more ready to flatten the face of any clowns who STILL aren't taking "flatten the curve" seriously, but I digress...

I'm certainly not the caliber of Superheroes like the hospital staff dealing with this much more head on...frankly, I was a little more cowardly the past couple of weeks anyway, wondering why we're still there? Are we really that essential given the situation? Must admit the only time I got teary the past few days was coming across Chris Mann's latest - and greatest - song twist. Tres cool...especially with those little suggestions or messages along with all the thank you's.

The best way we can really show thanks to these Superheroes is to continue concentrating on all precautions to alleviate THEIR added workloads and stress!
Take care, everyone!

PS:  Just heard Bill Withers passed away at age 81. Since "Lean On Me" is a no-no during isolation precautions, how about this for those missing contact?:

Lisa, double sad news - about BW and your temp layoff.  Hoping that you are back and running when it's safe to do so. A lot of people are filing here in the States.

Meantime:

Hey Al....I heard about how unemployment in the U. S. has spiked along with this...from 282,000 total mere weeks ago to over 6 million people now!  [eek]

Thanks for the tuneage...needed a refreshing musical break after tinkering away a bit on my Employment Insurance forms. Pretty much done, just have a couple of questions to ask. Phone lines are constantly busy, not surprisingly. The real kicker is I can't go in person to any office...they all closed coast to coast after several employees exercised their "right to refuse dangerous work" given the current situation.  Shush! Don't let the doctors, nurses, etc. hear about that option.   [rolleyes]

Was sad to hear the other day 2 infants - one just 6 weeks old - passed away from it in your state. Uggh..brutal.

How about a shout-out to the NY-area, back when they were in a better state of mind than they are now:

Thank you Lisa for that great song, and my sympathies for your layoff. Sadly, there's going to be a lot of it going around, a lot of sadness and grief to come. This song is stuck in my head today...

Sooo… last night I was hearing the reports of the POTUS ordering 3M to NOT export any N95 masks even to Canada or Latin America, and 3M's statement cautioning him of the humanitarian repercussions. Just watched a morning briefing by PM "Trudy" resisting the slippery slope of retaliation, trying to stick to the high road.

This started wafting through my noggin for some reason:
