Lisa,

Stevie finds the higher love - YES. GREAT album!!!! THANK you for this.
Speaking of Higher Love

Staying with Stevie Wonder - we have to find our own magic now - positivity.  "Keeping danger from a child"

Don't listen to our Goofball in Chief, who is a child.  Many knew of this coming across the planet prior to his denials, lies, and grandstanding.  It's ALL reality tv to him.  NOT a leader. Your Trudy and all leaders are in such a predicament dealing with a person who NEVER grew up and fools people along the way. Nuff said.

Back to the important - the music!
P. Simon gets it!

Still one of my FAVE singers/performers/writers -whom I have never seen/heard live - bucket list.

I don't want this to be referred to as the "Al and Lisa" thread - everyone else is still welcome to contribute - but...

Goofball in Chief, indeed! He's a virus in his own right, isn't he? (I feel safe saying that, knowing most Americans regularly here don't agree with him either - bless yer hearts!)  Was glad to see that statement from 3M indicating they're not comfortably on board with that, either. It was noted on one of the Canadian news channels that most of the pulp paper used in manufacturing TP and the N95 face masks comes from British Columbia --- seems a pretty good reason to continue sharing between countries rather than hoarding, no?  [biggrin]    "United we stand, divided we fall"

Great choices on the music, first time I head Steve Winwood's daughter, another perfect pick from the wise Wonder, its cover by the sage Simon and hadn't heard of Eddi Reader but will have to look into her repertoire.  [thumb]

Everyone keep the tunes coming! This is a nice place to visit from "my Corona home" now!  [wink]

Hello everyone. Great to see this thread took off. I got the virus 2 weeks ago and have been in isolation in hospital here in New Jersey for past week. It was very bad but much better now and hope to be going home soon. Everyone please take this extremely seriously. Be safe and be kind.

LARRY - I was wondering why so quiet - GEEZ Louise.  Get back to us stronger than ever!!!!!  Taking your words of wisdom:   Be safe and be kind.

Get us YOUR music again!  We'll keep on posting the music pulling us though this.  It is NOT the Lisa and Al show.  Come and social distance with us.

Lisa - I LOVED Eddi Reader on first listen way back with Perfect from Fairground Attraction.   Here she is again:

Revisiting how we first heard her. Larry, get back to ...

MCC keeps on doing her home concerts (with Angus the wonder dog and white kitty)  Stay together - don't leave people behind.

To quote the late Chris Farley...."Holy Schnikes!"

Larry, thank heavens you're on the road to recovery...may you stay on that road!
You speak my language precisely -- the faster everybody takes every precaution seriously (and quits whining about it crimping their lifestyle...aww, boo-friggin'- hoo!), the faster society might recover enough get life as we used to know it back...and businesses up and running as before. Get plenty of rest as you need - hope to have you more regularly here soon!

Alright already, don't practice the song title now anyone, but at least be inspired by another late, great Bill Withers epic a cappella style:

plus another great virtual choir from the recent James Corden primetime special:

… and just one more (for now...but take note of the GREAT quotes at the beginning and end):

I am sooo sorry (especially to Dame Julie Andrews and the estates of Rodgers & Hammerstein), but here's some musical numbers teaching the precautions:

Drat! It's me again (have me banned).

No song this time, but someone took one of PM Trudeau's recent special messages for kids from a briefing and illustrated it with Lego.
Encouraging message that really applies to ALL kids these days:

Nice doctors might be sending me home soon, even later today. My roommate, I believe a Haitian gentleman, is not in good shape, however.

Wondering how this experience might change our perspective on things. Maybe more commitment and more resources dedicated to social welfare and the common good?

It's a downer, but only one song's been on my mental soundtrack. Let's hope if we're going through any doors, there's some good on the other side. Or at least some peace.

Bob Dylan (don't know if link will work)

Apologies for rambling on.

The link works fine here, Larry....grim but understood for your case. Geez, must be humbling that your roommate might not be so fortunate.  [bawl]

How will this experience change us? Heck, that might be the subject for another thread. I just hope each country is better prepared with PPE's - maybe a larger stash plus ready to manufacture more on their own should the need arise...again. It may seem a ridiculous waste of money months after we're back to our "normal" lifestyles, but at least it would prevent this feuding over who should get how many. Would also alleviate that added stress and risk for hospital staff when supplies dwindle and disappear.

I agree...let's hope we really simplify our lifestyles from before - separating and appreciating those "wants" vs. "needs" better - and invest time or money to the community. There was some ignorance that lead to this reaching pandemic status - we can't afford to be stupid enough to repeat that mistake anytime soon, can we?  [wink]

Hi there guys.

Larry, glad you made through what was obviously a tough time. You're a fighter. Lots of rest and recuperation and good music ahead.

Anyone heard from Darren?

There are those among us who seem to have gone with the game. Surprised about John B for example. I never thought the competition was that interesting.

Love this: the cool Madison dance from A Band of Outsiders. In which Franz thinks of everything and nothing, as empires crumble.

I wonder if there will be worker's insurance?  Something to protect as this may happen again. Less and less handshakes and hugs even.

I think that I put something up about John Prine on one of these threads but he has been on a ventilator.
He's still with us but in ICU - stay strong, John, and NOT yet.

There was a special message from HRH Queen Elizabeth broadcast on Sunday.

Now, a special message or two from music royalty, Carole King:

Need new music for your workouts or walks, por favor?:

Larry, get home and stay in contact with hospital-mate and get on with things.  And POST some positive music.

Some more JP from this past fall.  True and basic and honest music:

Positive energy to John Prine and ALL who are fighting this virus.
Larry is getting out - thoughts are with your roomie as well.

I'm certainly enjoying and finding satisfaction/comfort from everyone who's still posting here. Thank you, one and all!

Here's another good one for these challenging times, live in concert from the Boss, originally from his excellent album We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions, from 2006:

Larry, good to see you've made it through this horrible thing that is impacting so many all over the world.
