Positive energy to John Prine and ALL who are fighting this virus.
Larry is getting out - thoughts are with your roomie as well.

Well said (again), Al... let's hope Larry's roomie proves his prognosis a little off and makes a recovery also!

I had a Macca flashback with some lyrics particularly in and around the chorus that are apropos for this global situation:

P. S.: Well, it's about time ABBA got into this, isn't it bonnie bella? (winkedy wink!):

I'm loving all the great, positive posts and great music on this thread! Larry, OMG, what an ordeal for you, I'm glad to hear you're on the mend. Scary, challenging times. Lisa, so glad you posted the Lego version of JT's address (love those daily briefings). This is rough on everyone, especially kids. As a Canadian, I thought his response on the 3M issue was classy. One hand washes the other. It is to our mutual benefit. We have to work together and just do whatever it takes to get the job done. On that note, here's a fine piece of Canadian music... TCB! Git 'er done!

I love the energy in this old clip (and the goofy host)

I love this version too! Heck, I'm just gonna post both of 'em...

After eight long days, the world this afternoon was so beautifully vivid. It's wonderful to be home again. (And 15 pounds lighter)

Darlene Love -- "Wait Til My Bobby Comes Home"

The Association -- "Darling Be Home Soon"

Harry Nilsson -- "I'll Be Home"

The Beach Boys -- "Shelter"

As of this afternoon:

44,000 confirmed cases in New Jersey
1,200 deaths
7,000 in hospital (1,500 on ventilators)

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young -- "Carry On"

R.I.P. John Prine.

Larry, you are HOME and safe and lighter in the process:

Stay at home music day - social distancing.  Burton Cummings as Elvis and other covers.  Apparently they had their own tv show in Winnipeg.

A fine concert and interviews

Yes, lost John Prine - a writer's writer.  Very sad news.
Must get The Tree of Forgiveness now!!!!

A New Jersey legend and a New York legend, especially for the survivors like Larry:

Thanks, Lisa. #JerseyStrong and #NewYorkTough as they're saying in hashtag world (although that second one is new to me).

Catching up here, you guys sure have been busy posting musical treasures, such as:

from Al:  John Prine -- "Way Back Then"
from Tom:  The Black Keys -- "Lonely Boy"
from surfergurl:  "The Lonely Sea"
from paul over on that other thread: R.E.M. -- "At My Most Beautiful"
from Lisa: "Quaranqueen" and the inspirational joyfulness of pseudo-Dame Julie Andrews

One from R.E.M. -- "Summer Turns To High"

One from Bruce:  "Seaside Bar Song"

And one from Randy Rainbow in honor of our neighboring governor:  "Andy!"

Toodles!

If Larry or anyone needs a break from all the music and wants to cozy up with an easy readin' book, here's a fella with some new takes on kid lit (love the Southern fried accent):

Chris Mann is back with another silly one:

a retro 40s PSA:

and...actually a good poke at the "Covidiots" out there that STILL don't understand:

It's almost impossible to keep with Lisa here. But I'll try (some):

The Julie Andrews was GREAT, btw.
NOW, this band doesn't distance very well but is concerned enough to get sanitized. But hang in for the ending about Hands.

Adam S.

He's "teaching my kids math at home, that can't be good for America"

Yep, that was a hilarious flub PM "Trudy" had the other day!
So hip it's gone hip-hop by someone, huh?
Love how even the signer paused with a "What the...?" expression.  [confused]

Back (temporarily) to another mellow, appropriate choice just released by that group Deb #1 posted the other week.
Loads of cute costumes, including Bowie wannabes and a little boy dressed as Buzz Lightyear, plus a few more fur babies here and there:

Someone today quoted Nick Lowe's "What's So Funny 'Bout Peace, Love and Understanding" in relation to current events.

And as I walked on
Through troubled times

My spirit gets so downhearted sometimes
So where are the strong
And who are the trusted?
And where is the harmony?

Sweet harmony.
'Cause each time I feel it slippin' away, just makes me want to cry.
What's so funny 'bout peace love & understanding?

Performed live with Los Straitjackets

PS:  YouTube recommended 40 minutes of Elvis Costello in isolation. And what song do you think he sings first? (Actually, it's almost the only song he does sing)

Two from Billie Holiday that feel relevant.

If this can't inspire and motivate people to reach out...

I don't know what can.  ^^^^^

Larry,  that I'll Be Seeing You does go right through.

Wowsers (again)!
After a bases loaded home run and a long bomb touchdown by Larry and Al, dare I cheapen things with a tie-in to retro TV and a lovely related TV commercial?

Seen this a few times here on the CBS affiliate from Minneapolis. The HyVee grocery store chain nicely brings back Bonnie Tyler's other hit:

Edit: Darn it, I'm back. Since Larry liked the "Quaranqueen", here's the same guy poking fun at the COVID conspiracy types:

… and just to end on a good note again, I'll post this as thanks for everyone posting here (love the photobombing cat starting at 2:18 interested in the daffodils). Keep 'em coming!:

Lisa, the MASH was fantastic!  The Ukes did save you here though - completely.
Back to some music-music by someone we are familiar with and appreciate immensely:

But wait:

And wait, wait, wait.  Lisa were you in Toronto in 015 for the premiere of L & M?

With John Prine:
https://www.msn.com/en-us/music/news/john-prines-songs-streamed-more-than-20-million-times-since-his-death/ar-BB12suE3?ocid=spartanntp
People get it - we appreciate more when we lose.  What a loss!
