I don't think you are out of line in the least about Ray - In fact, I appreciate hearing he's still thriving in his career.

Thx, Doug! My last injury was actually worth it. My husband was teetering at the top of the stairs looking like he was about to fall, so I grabbed him and pulled him away. He had a soft landing (on top of me) but I fractured my back in 4 places. It took them awhile to find it. I actually felt better (most of the time) before they did the spinal fusion. It wasn't completely successful. I do have pain pills, so if I'm not driving a car or traveling longer distances, I get along.

I hope your aren't suffering these days.

Debbie, add my voice to those wishing you a speedy recovery and a future that is hopefully pain-free and full of healing! Sorry to hear about what happened, but hoping for better days to come.

Regarding Lee, I'm in no way speaking for him but I miss reading his posts and opinions which 99% of the time I agree with, however based on our conversations I believe like many of us there may be issues of time and commitments professionally and personally that don't leave as much time to post across multiple forums and outlets.

And not saying the following is what happened (because I didn't see what happened on this forum as some referenced), but sometimes you also just get fed up enough to chuck it and quit, for a variety of reasons.

Whatever the case, I hope Lee comes back at some point.

Regarding the other stuff...I could go there, but I won't. People see it, some know exactly what happened, and others choose to make up the facts as they go regardless of...actual fact. But that's how some people are, and the words "responsibility", "apology", or "I'm sorry" must have been scrubbed off the pages of their vocabulary in favor of blaming and trashing people.

It's good to see Debbie, Craig and Andrew coming round again.  WB.

Yes, miss Lee.

Wow to Debbie on all of what took place and that recovery is going well.

Is anyone looking forward to Holiday Tour by The Man With All the Toys and his glorious band?

Welcome back contributors to this board!

While I haven't been around much myself, I really miss Lee. He's something special.

Thx, Al. Wish I could see the Holiday Tour, too - but looking forward to the Greatest Hits show I hope to be able to sit through.

Hello everyone,
Miss the comraderie around here, but glad Brian's fanbase has exploded beyond the "Blubored," LOL. I am loving the photos and anniversaries posted on Facebook. I thought I was kind-of casually following Brian's tour, but here I am again, with holiday tickets burning a hole in my pocket! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Going to the soundcheck with my husband for the first time, (he's a musician, not me). Oh, do I glowingly recommend it! Last time I did the soundcheck, it was Jeff Beck plus BDW and Mr. Jardine. I thought I was going to have a hemorrhage during all the obscure and special encore rehearsals, but Al smiled at me very purposefully to get me to have fun. I was so deadly serious, but I tried. This was in the rehearsal at the show I attended, Danny Boy with BB vocals ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

Wow!  You didn't mention the presence of Mr. Marks.  Must have been like heaven.

All the shows I attended seem to merge. At the soundcheck it must have been David Marks rehearsing songs from Friends like Little Bird (my absolute all-time favorite BB album of ALL TIME), but my brain has checked out as to the details of such bliss. Just too much - sensory overload - blissed-out bliss. This Christmas show will be dedicated to my late father, a BB aficionado and co-conspirator, whose last request was a Radio City Music Hall Christmas show which was not to be.

I am loving the idea of Carnie's husband, Rob, being in the band. That photo of Alan + Brian + Rob on here is great.

In Merkel's tongue, we have the term "Schwiegersohn" for male persons married to daughters. In sense of word, that might mean "the son who rarely speaks". Let's hope he's allowed to sing at least.

I'm here, too. I've been having a little adventure with re-registering, non-believing that once-used nicks can be revived, if using a different email address. So I thought about a new SMiLE related nick, right after listening to "Wonderful". Now, this is the end of nonbeliever's short story because I don't like playing disguise games here.

I know the police because I'm their asset customer. I know Poland from the East. I know Polythene Pam from Abbey Road. But what's "politics" ? Never heard of.[biggrin]

Welcome back.  But what ever happened to that boy who bumped into you?

Let's see whether I get this in the right place. I may be the longest running lurker on this board....been many years. The upcoming Kauffman Center show finally got me to conquer the arduous task of thinking of a password and use this thread to thank everyone who has contributed informative posts over the years.

My name is Paul and I live in the Kansas City area. The Kauffman show will be my 21st Brian Wilson concert starting with the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles in October 1999 (been to more than 30 BBs concerts, but retired from Mike and Bruce shows). So many highlights: many Pet Sounds shows, the Smile shows at Disney Hall (came home to a flood in my apartment the first night), an amazing evening at the Venetian Hotel Soundstage taping, the 2016 Kauffman Center show, etc. We made it to 4 shows last year and had tickets for Nashville this past May, but hope to be there next June.

I hope to be able to contribute to this board from time to time, and do have stories from some of the shows we've been to, some moving and some funny. Thanks again to all of you from whom I've learned so much.

Welcome in Paul in KC.  Lurk no more and join the pool of posters. With 30 or more shows under your belt, we're sure to hear some good thoughts and memories.  We all keep on learning.

Oh the Sixties ! I tell you what. Listen carefully to VDP’s lyrics. The guy didn’t only BUMP into me. There was a P in front of the UMP, and that’s why he left me pregnant. He rushed over to the East coast, and became a real estate salesman in NYC, never telling anybody about his youth affair with an innocent girl from a Spanish and Indian home, and now pretending he doesn’t even like Sombreros. I have kept holding my spinning ass into the warmth of the old drinking hole for 50 years now, while my BUMP-eter swan prefers dining at DcMonald’s.

But why so cynical ? At least I've got my SMiLE.[biggrin]
