Hey, Al -- both links worked. Imagine that! Here's hopin' no one's feelin' blue after today. Ain't that right, Joe?

Get out there and vote, America! No voter apathy allowed; as the saying goes, "If you don't vote, don't b-tch about who's elected".

Best advice my dad gave for voting was "Vote for who you hate the least" which makes my head explode this year, as I'm not completely sold on one, but despise the other.  [confused]

Once Americans have voted, we can all sit in the sun & daydream about a less embarrassing political diatribe next time out:

Kinks - Sitting in the Midday Sun

Lovin' Spoonful - Daydream (Live)

Fever Tree - The Sun Also Rises

And no matter what happens...

...one from Gerry & the Pacemakers - It's Gonna Be Alright

...here's another from the Kinks - It's Alright

Thanks for some impressive videos from Al, Lisa and bonnie.
Al, the “Little Honda” clips were good to see.  McCartney’s Distractions” is new to me. Lisa, A “doh” to your “well, duh”.

Popeye’s videos are uplifting. And thanks, John E.

Now tonight’s distraction…yes, a movie is good.  "The Beatles: Eight Days A Week" would do fine.

bonnie – You’ve got some great videos. “I’d rather go blind”…well a little extreme, but I empathize with the sentiment.  Hang on tight …this will be over soon.
t’s right about the sun…

Two clear winners to me, Deb.

Gold - Little Honda (The Beach Boys - 1964)
This was on the first Beach Boys cassette I ever listened to – The Best of The Beach Boys Vol. II. So, already, it’s in my good books. It’s my favourite BB period. Vintage Boys. Too short.

Silver - (Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay (Otis Redding - 1968)
Nothing against it. Good to sing, simple to play, hard to whistle. Short.

Bronze - Feel Like Makin’ Love (Bad Company - 1975)
It sure isn’t the Roberta Flack song (which was written by the great Gene McDaniels). Nevertheless, I have deep concerns about both songs. Is this about sex? Because we all know how dirty that is. Not short enough.

Participant - Watching the Detectives (Elvis Costello - 1977)
Bleh! I dig a couple of his songs – mainly ‘Girls Talk’ and ‘Oliver’s Army’ – but his voice kinda turns me off. I was more of a Graham Parker kinda guy. Is this song about someone watching the TV show that starred Robert Taylor and Mark Goddard, The Detectives? My grandfather looked like Basil Rathbone. Anyway, is it over yet?

Here's my last Election related post.   It's a dedication to the idiots who're protesting and causing property damage in major cities along the coasts

My electoral votes:

(4) Little Honda - Beach Boys - This high energy song always gets my motor running.

(3) Feel Like Making Love - Bad Company - A good one from one of my favorite bands of the 70's.

(2) (Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay - Otis Redding - This song always bored me.

(1) Watching the Detectives - Elvis Costello - I've never seen (or heard) what's so special about this guy.

God bless the USA!!!

Ok, It’s over, what do we do now?

[uses-for-alka-seltzer-16]
Suggestions for the distraught include:
Sleep for the next 4-8 years

 [Sedate]

Move to Canada (hi, Lisa and Lee [wave])

[ca-lgflag]

“One thing I know about the rest of my life/I know that I’ll be livin’ it in Canada.”  Sloan - The Rest of My Life:

Here’s some help on how to move to Canada.  Hopefully the Canadian Immigration site is back up after the rush yesterday:

This is not recommended:

Popeye thanks for the electoral votes.  And yes The USA needs that blessing right now.

Quote:
…hard to whistle”…

I was on the Howdy Doody show when I was little.  I had to eat soda crackers and then try to whistle.  It can be hard to whistle. [biggrin]

Except when it becomes a little too real.

Seriously, thanks for the quotes and votes Darren.

I’m tabulating…[comp]
