Well done, Larry.

They’re in the book.

It was the third time around for ‘I Just Wasn’t Made for These Times’.

Its record:

- a Gold in Week 31 of Season I, 4th in Gold Play-Off (Al Forsyth),
- a Silver in Week 40 of Season V (Tom Tobben),
- a Gold in Week 42 of Season IX (Larry Franz)

In Season I, it scored 72 points and 36.00% from 20 voters.

In Season V, it scored 72.5 and 26.85 from 27 voters (beaten by 13.5 points by ‘In My Life’ by The Beatles, which finished 3rd that year – the annual Bronze).

This time, it scored 43 and 30.71 from 14 voters.

The Pet Sounds record:

Wouldn't It Be Nice (a Gold in Week 24 of Season III, 1st (annual Gold) in Gold Play-Off3rd in the Ultimate Battle - Cindy Hood),

You Still Believe in Me (a Gold in Week 9 of Season IV - Verden McCutcheon; a Gold in Week 14 of Season VII, 1st in Preliminary Final, 3rd (annual Bronze) in Gold Play-Off - Larry Franz),

A live version of 'Let's Go Away for Awhile', performed by Brian Wilson in 2000 (and featured on Live at the Roxy Theatre), won its Silver in Week 22 of Season II (Deborah O'Neill).

A live version of 'Pet Sounds', performed by Brian Wilson in 2002, won its Gold in Week 6 of Season VII and finished 8th in the Preliminary Final (Lisa G/TS).

Pet Sounds is the most popular album ever, according to the Battle.

‘Crying in the Rain' is the ninth Everly Brothers track to be used.

Their record:

Always Drive a Cadillac (a Gold in Week 4 of Season I - Darren J. Ray),
All I Have to Do is Dream (live) (a Silver in Week 22 of Season III, 8th in the Preliminary Final - Tom Tobben),
On the Wings of a Nightingale (a Gold in Week 5 of Season V - t Bedford),

Hence in the five weeks that they've had just the one entry, they've collected two Golds and three Silvers. A fine record.

Phil Everly also scored a Bronze for 'Louise' in Week 11 of Season I (Gordon Higgins).

‘Ooo Baby Baby’ is just the second Miracles track to be used.

‘Tracks of My Tears’ won the Gold in Week 10 of Season I (Gordon Higgins) and finished 9th in the Preliminary Final.

It was Neil Young's seventh entry.

Quote:

Having hosted six times this year, I'm not planning to host in 2019. Anybody who wants the battle to keep going but doesn't host should take the plunge and volunteer for a week or two.

I second that emotion.

And please keep supporting your hosts when they do take the plunge.
