Week 12 part 2, Darren? One artist new to me and I quite like the others' voices.

Next week's theme will be 'song', right? (not that it's yours to choose)

Here's a vocal and guitar talent from the Mid Atlantic area.  Lzzy Hale (not a typo) and her brothers in Halestorm.

Smart move by a gorgeous woman to form a band with her brothers to avoid any type of.....drama that plagued bands like Heart, Blondie, and Fleetwood Mac.

A battle with all girl artist's - COOL!  I remember you saying that girls weren't very represented in the battles, so this is really great, Darren.

They're all good ones.  I'll go with:

GOLD:  Dido for White Flag.  I've always been fond of this song.  She's got a pretty voice.

SILVER:  Honeys for Go Away Boy.  Nicely done and it's got that 60's feeling to it.

BRONZE:  Missy Higgins for Set Me On Fire.  It's a new one on me and I rather liked it.

TIN/PEWTER:  Katherine McPhee for It's Not Right.  It has a nice melody to it, but felt that it got a little crammed up in the lyrics, which were kind of weird.  Nice to hear something from this American Idol finalist from way back.

My final answer.

I'll have to get in early this week. Leaving early Friday (back Monday evening) on a weekend getaway vay-cay (Hooray!) down to Minneapolis for Twins/Blue Jays baseball and some shopping. So here goes:

GOLD -- The Honeys, Go Away Boy -- My ballot was really close to being a broken record and echoing Cindy and t's rankings, but I decided to stick my neck out and give Marilyn, Diane and Ginger their dues for a smooth, silky, classy single. Sounds so Wilsonesque. Coincidence?

SILVER -- Dido, White Flag -- Probably my favourite track of hers...VERY close to being a tie for Gold. It's soothing, comforting, yet there's still something there that'll keep me from dozing off a minute or two into it.

BRONZE -- Missy Higgins, Set Me On Fire -- Very nice "smokey" voice.

PEWTER/TIN -- Katharine McPhee, It's Not Right -- Lovely voice, but someone had to come last. In her case, that's okay, since she's getting more into acting these days -- her most recent stint as one of the stars of the CBS series "Scorpion", which I'll admit I've only watched in snippets.

Thanks, Darren!

ps: Thanks, bonnie -- for posting Phoebe covering one of my tippity top fave Macca songs.

No problem Lisa, it's a great song.

Christina Aguilera has one of the widest vocal ranges, here she is doing a little something from the Burlesque movie.  Arresting.

While I'm not really a fan of her music as a solo artist or with the Black Eyed Peas, Fergie's actually got some singing chops that she doesn't display enough in the pop/rap stuff she does.

Check out her song with Slash

John, there is no theme.

Just four songs.

Hope you give them a good listen and vote.

Thanks a lot for the votes, Cindy, t, Al and Lisa.

You voted first, Cindy. Like old times. Nice to see you on here.

t, you used 'The Doolang' in Week 1 of Season III.

Week 1
Gold - The Doolang (Andrea Carroll - 1964) (44.5)
Silver - She Rides With Me (Joey and The Continentals - 1966) (44)
Bronze - Good Good Lovin’ (Bocky and The Visions - 1964) (32)
Tin - Jennie Lee (The Tree Stumps - 1967) (29.5)
(t Bedford)

Coincidentally, I went out with a girl tonight and she started singing it in the car. I kid you not. Surely proof that it deserved to be a hit.

Lisa, safe travels this weekend.
