Hi all,

This week's song is Good Kind of Love.  It is a nice, upbeat song.

A nice, upbeat little ditty from the TLOS album.

One of my favorites on TLOS. A feel good song. Love the arrangement and harmony on the line " a little bit of kissing...that's how we fell in love".

There certainly are Brian songs I like TONS more than this one.  There are parts of it which are totally cool and boldly proclaim that this is a Brian Wilson song.  The chorus isn't bad either.  But the main part of the song sounds to me like any number of light-weight 'copy-catters' could have recorded it.  As golf analyst Johnny Miller says..."IT's not his best".  And it isn't.

Still worthy of inclusion here though Mary.  It's certainly a part of Brian's 'body of work'.  Even a chicken comes with dark and white meat.

I like this one, Brian's voice sounds good and as Mary said, it is upbeat.  Not to be played on repeat though.

to be played on repeat in context of the entire album, though.  It's like setting/mood for the rock opera that is TLOS.  My favorite part is the 'run to him, run to him...' part.  and then the mood and music changes for 'forever, she'll be my surfer' girl'.   Love it.  If I woke up tomorrow, and TLOS was gone, I would miss it terribly...

I agree.  I think it works really well on the album, but it's not really a song I listen to if I'm in the mood to listen to individual Brian Wilson tracks.

Well, maybe, but you know, I was thinking of another great American story-teller, and his rock opera 'Born to Run'.  I would say you needed "Meeting Across the River" before the 'rat's own dream gunned him down' in "Jungleland,"

as you needed "Right Kind of Love" before "Midnight's Another Day."

Yeah, that's pretty true too.
