Do you think 'Comfortably Numb' would get as many posts?

Yeah, it's a pretty polarizing album.

Probably not on a Beach Boys / Brian Wilson board, but on a general music board or a Pink Floyd board, absolutely.

However, the concept of a trip to the hamburger stand isn't going to rock my world or expand my mind in any way. I have to agree with John B that much of the music from the late 70's on is crap. I hate the 80's. The only song I really like on Love You is Good Time, which was recorded in the early 70's, unlike the rest of the record. To me, Brian was always more of a musical genius than a lyrical one. I'm not dissing any early Beach Boys lyrics in any way shape or form, but I believe it's Brian's music that has made the biggest impression on fans. I don't believe that a fan is not really devoted if they don't like Love You. I'm sure Brian knew that not all his songs would be popular. What matters is that he was true to himself in making the music. That doesn't make anybody who dislikes Love You a phony fan.

Not getting Love You does not make you a phoney fan -Heaven forbid!

It's an epiphany record for many people. Who knows maybe one day you'll be listening to it in a relaxed, unexpectant way and the whole thing will just drop on you like a grand piano! That's how it was for me.

Good luck, I hope you do get it at some point but if not, so what? None of us gets, or even wants to get, everything. I don't get Sail on Sailor! Music's subjective or its nothing.
