Al has the lead and sounds terrific. David on guitar.
If you go to link, song kicks in around the 45 minute mark...
Very excited to hear NPP in its entirety....

Thanks so much for posting....What a great surprise!

I love this song, very catchy and easy to listen to.

It's always a pleasure to hear Al on a lead and Brian sounds awesome in the chorus.

NPP/April can't come fast enough.

Thank you for posting this! I have been very excited about Brian's NPP being on its way, but now I am just outrageously stoked! What a great song. Al and Brian sound great. Love David's guitar licks. It sounds wonderful. Love the harmony blend. I will be curious as to who is singing the falsetto in the blend on this one. It doesn't sound like Jeff, but perhaps it is. I know he is on the album. Could be Matt, maybe even Brian. The quality of the falsetto really blends well in the blend. Did I say Al sounds great?! Great song! Way to go, Brian! We are all in for something amazing...

That we would be THIS fortunate...to have a release THIS undeniably outstanding from 3 of the 5 remaining principal Beach Boys in 2015 is so FAR beyond a bonus.  We are blessed to not only get to hear this now but then, in fact, to own it in early April.

Yet at another site the debate ranges on - on any number of issues.  Production techniques used/not used.  Plagerism.  Performance.  Blah blah blah.

My post then...from there...to here

"Well...I enjoyed the HECK outta that.  I had a chance to listen w/o interuption and thoroughly 'felt' it.  A unique sound with that guitar for what turns out to be a Beach Boys kind of effort.  Yes I enjoyed It's OK and Good Timin' a LOT and Kokomo a little but as a Beach Boys [based] release...this is the first NEW something I've enjoyed to this extent since Holland hit the shelves.  [that's after 1 listen...]

Like all Beach Boys and Brian material some folks like the A pile.  Some prefer the B choices and others are better satiated by C, D, or E.  This song, then, would be no exception in that regard.  But as a LONG TIME fan...I dig it BIG TIME. Cool Guy

Nicely done Brian...Al...David.  Thanks for NOT trying to be anyone other than yourselves.  Timeless pounds the livin' daylights outta trendy everytime."

I agree with your post, Lee. What's not to love with this new song?! It is stellar. A wonderful "Beach Boys" cut from Brian, Al, and David. Love it!

Really nice song.   Love Al's vocals along with Brian on the chorus.  Even with Mike and Bruce missing it still sounds very Beach Boys like which is by no means a bad thing.[smile]  Well April 7th is still a while away but we finally heard something from NPP.[smile]  I'm sure the album as a whole will be worth the wait.

If there was ever any doubt about the importance of Al Jardine's clear, distinctive, beautiful voice to the Beach Boys' "sound", his contributions to TWGMR and now this new sound make it unmistakable. Al's wonderful voice has withstood the passage of time and he is just in great vocal trim here. The background vocals are fabulous (a little bit Brian, a little bit Matt?) and the whole arrangment has a real BB feel. What a treat!

all that I can say is: WOW
what a great song. For a minute I thought it might be from the later part of the 70's.  ( I felt MatchPoint there a little bit).

regardless, its a nice song and I bet this album will be killer and quintessential Brian. Love Al's vocals here. What a great voice. More than anybody (and all due respect to the core 5), he makes the beach boys sound like the beach boys.

Nice guitar and a nice chorus. Not overdone with vocals. Perfect. Love it.

Looking forward to the release. I will buy a CD and will also get it on vinyl at my local record store. Yes, we still have one of those in Johnstown pa.

I've listened several times now and the song just gets better. So remarkable that Al's voice is so good after all these years. Wish someone would "leak" the song with Zooey Deschannel as I am a fan of hers as well (She & Him) though her tv show "The New Girl" is just plain awful.

Also, I wonder how did the first release from such an anticipated album end up on a Norwegian radio station. No offense, but it strikes as an odd thing...

As also noted on another website, sounds like 'Lay Down Burden' in parts (one of my favourites but it took me a while to recall the name of it!

Thanks M. Ketchum and kudos to Norwegian radio for the scoop. Vikings rule!
Nitpicking first: I'd prefer a less processed sound. Couldn't tell autotune from a camel, but Al's voice surely doesn't need all that reverb. On the other hand, I understand they are going for a "modern radio friendly" sound. I guess it is.
Nitpicking taken care of, it's pure ear candy. What a catchy, cheerful jingle. Nobody but Brian could come out with that in 2015. And such an authentic Beach Boys vibe, including Matt Jardine's (I think) falsetto. Love Dave's guitar.
The almost three minutes seem to end in a flash and let me wanting for more. Good sign.

Everything I have heard from this album which of course is admittedly very little has made me optimistic. This track is amazingly catchy.

I was initially skeptical about the use of "guest" singers on Brian's new CD, and said so elsewhere on this board. Too many older musicians have gone that route for career-extending Duet CD's (think Elton, Tony  Bennett, Smokey, Ol' Blue Eyes.... the list goes on and on). But Brian is a unique musician, who in his later years, is STILL challenging himself and trying new things.

His greatest work in the 60's and 70's always found him writing for the individual talents of his brothers, and Mike & Al. I am now beginning to see that this new CD will be a similar endeavor for Brian. He will cast each song to the right voice, in the way that he always did. That's one of his many talents. And I REALLY can't wait to hear the finished product.

Sorry for ever doubting you, Brian. After 50 years of listening to your music, I should've known better.

It won't happen again!
