hope it's not inappropriate to mention here
that dagenham essex boy, tony rivers
has let us know pat, his dear wife, passed away at the weekend
at their home in spain.
as many of you'll know, tony's been a huiuuge beach boys / bw supporter,
recording several songs with his popular music combo the castaways
(who'd hang out with the beatles,
commemorated at the cavern in liverpool),
before forming harmony grass
cliff richard
's backing singer and harmony arranger
(during the period when cliff was cool)
and with shakin' stevens,
not to mention numerous bb fan conventions and aftershow sessions.
a luvverly, luvverly bloke and i'm very saddened to read the following:

This has been a terrible week, First a lovely friend Carole from Javea passed away then my wife of 55 years marriage(Anthony’s mum, Pat) after experiencing some strange painful spasms, simply passed away. The Gandia Ambulance crew did a great job in the middle of Saturday night trying everything to save my wife’s life, she clung on as long as she could, but in the end, not possible, thanks to the Gandia ambulance lads who worked hard as hell to save her,but not to be.
Sunday late afternoon Anthony and I had a gig at Camping Azul, after a discussion we made the decision to do the gig in my wife’s’ honour, the crowd at Azul were great. Then we had to return home, to an empty house, apart from our cats, a very very strange feeling, just didn’t feel like home, not sure I can do this, I miss her so much, however I have to, strange strange strange.

here's tony with the castaways, recordings of a couple of brian wilson songs:

and, with their son, anthony (a couple or more years ago)
at that very local spanish gig they decided to play last night

our thoughts are with you, tony...

Thanks for sharing this. I am so sorry for Tony, Anthony, family and friends. I didn't know Pat, but I'm certain she was amazing. We're losing a lot of goddesses these days, watching Notre Dame de Paris burn. Sometimes we deal with magic. Other times we deal with terrible loss. This part is no fun.

How sad and sudden, which always seems to make it worse as you're not prepared. Tony's been a big supporter of Brian's music going all the way back to the beginning and deserves some support back from us in recognition. God rest her soul Tony and much love and sympathy to you and your son Anthony.
